A short update

We’re a month away from Lyne’s celebration and we are still trying to understand what happened. But life goes on. And as we’ve told many people we find relief in the fact that Lyne finally can relax from her fight. That kind of relief comes only from loving her as much as we did. As much as we do.

Isabella stated in school on January 7 and John went back to work a few days later. The distraction’s been good for both of us. We spend time every evening talking to Lyne just before falling to sleep. We’re sure she hears us and that she appreciates the updates no matter how small the details get 🙂

We’ve been getting many cards, flowers, meals, and tons of support, and that’s all making it easier. Right now five of the parents are taking turns bringing Isabella home from school, and she’s having fun with all the play dates. So thank you to Olivia, Alicia, Brideen, Leslie, Stacie, their families, and everybody that’s been calling, writing, visiting, and helping in so many ways. We will never forget this.

We’re obviously hitting the ground running in some areas and it’s been a challenge to get up to speed on the many things that Lyne handled, but overall we’re doing alright and Isabella’s been such a trooper with it all. John’s still trying to figure out how to control Isabella’s hair for the ballet and violin lessons 😉

This week Isabella presented her Cheetah report that we prepared over Christmas. She got applause for a goofy cheetah drawing and did well on her presentation. Teachers are telling us that she continues to be happy but that she needs a hug now and then. Luckily they’re in no short supply.

The kitchen is coming along but is still three-four weeks from being finished. We still need to pick the handles for the cabinets, but other that that there’s nothing left on our to-do list and it’s now all up to Jesse and his folks to bring it home.
