First of all: Happy birthday to Lyne! We sang for her this morning (no complaints from the neighbors) and Isabella will celebrate more later today, while John’s in Las Vegas. We will surely remember her even more that what we already do.
We started the celebrations a bit yesterday participating in one of Lyne’s favorite activities: hiking. We went with REI to the East Bay and hiked Coyote Hills Regional Park. Very nice and not too hard for kids (or their parents). Isabella got the visitor center to take out a Gopher snake and a California King snake. They were both very pretty but seemed a little edgy. Maybe we disturbed them during their afternoon nap.

Isabella was lucky to get invited help run a lemonade stand Sunday afternoon and finished it all off in a pool. She’s staying over a Pia’s tonight – nothing seems to beat a good (which doesn’t always equal quiet) sleepover.
Friday Isabella was invited to a rodeo at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Stephanie dropped her off at 10:30 Friday evening and she was totally exhausted, but she’d had a great time wearing the boots and hat Rebecca sent her.
Other than that the weekend was spent trying to finalize summer camps, the Christmas vacation (99% done), and enjoying the new paint on the house.
