It’s been a while since we’ve updated the blog… John’s trying to get certified as a professional photographer (test tomorrow) and that’s put him behind the books. But we still manage to get outside, and a good example of that is last weekend’s trip to Carmel Valley.
The weather wasn’t all on our side, but we didn’t hit fog until Big Sur. Enjoyed a light lunch outside at Post Ranch Inn, named one of the world’s best restaurant views. We are very(!) lucky to live here! Snug across the road afterwards to peek at Ventana Inn that got scorched by the fires last summer. It’s back in shape, and the Ferraris outside clearly showed it was open for business.
Spent part of the evening hanging out with an ex-colleague from Adobe, his wife and their son. We were pooped by the time the darkness came around, but no more than we still made it to the hot tub trying to find stars above in the cloud coverage.
Sunday included a walk at Point Lobos – the greatest meeting of land and water in the world (Francis McComas). It was pretty foggy and some of the area was closed to the public because of the seals using the rocks as breeding ground. Good spot for fresh air and an ever changing scenery seen in many paintings and photographs around the world.
On Sunday afternoon Isabella finally got to try one of the two dresses she had sown in Bangkok last summer. She wore it just for fun. There’s one of bright spring green as well, so all we need is an invitation for a black tie or cinderella ball 😉 Shoes come off easily!
Moses got to hang out too, and enjoyed roaming the garden showing off his new spring hair cut. The lion cut is still intact and he would be very scary if it wasn’t for the wagging tail, the tongue on the ground, and the smile on his face. But that’s OK and why we love him 🙂
