Spent the weekend in Carmel. John turned another corner and got absolutely spoiled by Olivia and Isabella throughout the day Saturday. Isabella crafted the cake above and had bought John new sunglasses. Moses brought a camera bag as a present, and Olivia a very nice lens for John to add to the collection. Olivia even let John win a tennis match. It doesn’t get any better than that and the birthday was definitely one for the books.
Spent Sunday hiking in Carmel Valley but much of the vegetation was already burned by the sun and had few colors other than the classical yellowish hillside color. Several signs about mountain lion activity, but we have yet to see one and what’s a kitty-cat like that compared the ones we just saw in South Africa?
Happiness is to dry and relax in the afternoon sun after a day with lots of activities. Even when John’s in my face with his new lens!
