We went to St. Helena last week to take pictures of a vineyard. Fun job, very hot and gorgeous surroundings. Barnett Vineyards is private tastings only, but make an appointment and swing by if you’re around – the wine is excellent and Kevin will take good care of you. Isabella was an excellent assistant. She had a lot of fun with the two german shepherds. Less so with Ruby the cat. Small marks on Isabella’s arm to remind her, that Ruby prefer not to be cuddled. The images of the vinery will be online soon – we’ve already seen a mockup of the new webpages using some of the shots John took. Looks great.
We spent the weekend in Carmel Valley with Olivia doing not a whole lot. Had dinner at Cafe Rustica in the valley and did part of the 17-mile drive the day after. Toured the hotel and golf course at Spanish Bay. We were too early to see any bagpiping activity, but enjoyed the blue sky with the contrasty green and good weather instead. We obviously had to stop at the Pebble Beach stables, but they horses were already inside munching on whatever it is they munch on. Sunset was stunning once it came around. We are incredibly lucky to be able to spend time at Casa Bellamia!
Sadly the saga on the family room has come to an end, and there will be no remodeling – sniff, sniff. On the plus side that means the dining table we have in storage can be delivered, and replace the couch. If you know someone in need of a leather sleeper couch… It’s two years old, from Restoration Hardware (Morgan) and have seen very little use. It’s listed at $5,075 on the website and is available for a lot less. Going on Craigs List soon.
Job market has been pretty much dead following July 4. John have had a couple of interviews at Dolby and VeriSign. Dolby didn’t work out – there’s no word from VeriSign yet. Long haul this time and the cabin fever is starting to set in. Only way out is to keep on trying – the resume is excellent and something will of course pop up. Hopefully within long.
