December flew past us. John went to Copenhagen for a short visit mid-December and got caught in the snow storm that hit Europe. A two-hour layover in Frankfurt turned into 12 hours. There were no cars and no trains available, so all he could do was to sit and wait. By the time the last flight took off, John had five boarding cards – the previous four flights had all be cancelled. It was almost as adventurous coming back, but he made the original flight back to San Francisco and once onboard and homeward bound all travel trouble was forgotten.
We had people over pretty much every day upon John’s return. Good friends that we see too little off. Rhett and Karin were here as were Jay, Deb, Michael, Joanne, Sarah and Robert. We had most of the Bellamys over for dinner on December 24: Time to reveal the secret Santas. Among the surprises John got a very impressive and home made jar for the “Bellamy-Agger Africa Travel Fund”. We’ll see how well it saves money. All-in-all we had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed great company and much generosity from Santa and his elves.
The girls were here Christmas morning and on New Years eve. Lots of time to play with the new Kinect. John, Isabella and Olivia flew to Ottawa on December 26 to visit the Motes plus Birgit and Mogens who had arrived from Denmark. Good times and the cousins were very, very happy to be together. We don’t have a whole lot of pictures from the trip. Gloves had to stay on… Chris and his family were visiting from Amsterdam for the holidays, and we got invited to join them for a sleigh ride on Wolfe Island. Very cold but good fun and it’s been a looong time since we got to hang out on a ferry.
Isabella is working on an essay assignment and is also preparing her Mission report. We went to see the Santa Clara mission yesterday and took lots of photos for the PowerPoint slideshow. They are building the models in class this time around after it had gotten a little too competitive between the parents the previous years. Pia chose the Santa Cruz Mission and is almost done with her report. Bella turned 13 on Thursday; which we celebrated at home and at Ozumo. So excited to be able to watch PG-13 movies 😉
