We started September with a night tour to Alcatraz Island for a tour of the prison being even more gloomy compared to the regular day experience. Mogens, Birgit and the rest of the crew sans Adriana set up from Burlingame just after dinner and we boarded the boat just before seven in the evening. The night experience was great and if you want to try it be warned that it’s harder to get tickets to. The views of San Francisco are quite spectacular and the prison gets a whole different feeling to it when it’s dark outside.
Luckily everybody were released and allowed back to the mainland and we were glad to be able to sleep in our own beds and not the ones The Bird Man, Machine Gun Kelly and Al Capone had used. Lovely bunch!
