Olviia and John snug off to Hong Kong for Memorial Day weekend. Quick getaway – about as long as they come these days if they girls can’t join but well worth it and lots of new impressions.
Camping out on the 112th floor was spectacular when the clouds didn’t block the view of an ever bustling harbor with so much traffic it looks like a busy anthill from above. The hotel was located on the Kowloon side and the view of the typical Hong Kong skyline was beautiful – especially in the dusk and during the night. The pool on the 118th floor was a great way to start the mornings and it removed whatever little amount of jet lag that still was lingering.
Quick visit to the Temple Street night market after touch down. Fancy dining at Felix Sunday evening. Great view of the city – especially if you can get a seat close to the windows. The following evening they feasted on Peking Duck at Man Wah. Both restaurants were outstanding and come highly recommended. Overall the service and hospitality level was top notch and Hong Kong stays on the must-visit list.
John came to an agreement with a tailor for the wedding outfit after Olivia helped choose fabric and style. The days of an good quality inexpensive suit seems over but the quality is still among the best int he world probably only rivaled by Saville Row in London. And compared to that bunch Hong Kong is way cheaper and at least somewhat affordable.
