Nice little doggie… eh… snaky…

Yes, that’s our daughter trying to kiss a 12 foot long python. I’m not sure what we did wrong – neither of us are very comfortable around snakes although it’s a little easier for me when what’s hanging around my neck is a constrictor. Isabella found the snake at the Tanah Lot temple – not that it was hard to miss. It was already very dark, but the camera did a great job at capturing her enthusiasm. Maybe she’ll blame us one day for letting her do stuff like this 🙂

The snake thing was the last activity of the day. We’ve been driving aroudn the island with “Imam”, who’s showed us some of our first sights of Bali. We went to an Elephant park, but the line was too long, and we were off for Sidemen and the rice fields in that area. Had a brief stop in Ubud to see the Sacred Monkey Forest. Lyne quickly realized that a load of bananas makes you their new best friend, and the monkeys were not shy of pulling her clothes until the got a banana. “King Kong” wasn’t happy with one and insisted on getting the whole bunch. And so ended the banana-story with one very happy monkey.

From Ubud to Tanah Lot to see the sunset over the beautiful temple. Many, many tourists there and we understood why our travel books recommended coming in the morning and to enjoy the sunset from somewhere else.
