Today started early with a ride to the Elephant Safari Park north of Ubud. We had kept it a secret for Isabella – she spent the last two days asking if we could reveal just a little bit. By far the most expensive thing we’re done in Bali (Disneyland prices), but the park was clean, the elephants was well cared for, and it was worth it compared to some of the other elephant attractions we had noticed.
From there to the local volcano approximately 40 miles north of Ubud. Very beautiful with three mountain peaks right in front of you. The street dealers were past pushy and downright annoying, so we grabbed the pictures and got out of there again. Ate lunch at the Dirty Duck overlooking a rice field. Very nice.
Joined a cooking class once we were back at the hotel and learned to make satay chicken and banana in caramel sauce. Mmmmm…. Finished the day with Balinese dance and dinner on the beach. Unfortunately a true copy of the dance we’d seen a few days earlier, but it was very relaxing to sit next to the waves and experience it all. Isabella hung out with Angelina. They had a lot of fun and it’s too bad that they’re not back in Hong Kong until the day before we leave.
