The kitchen is asbestos free – yay! It took two days but now it’s all gone and the men in space suits finished it all off with a sealer yesterday at noon. Apart from the humongous fan they had running overnight, it was relatively painless. The contractor is unfortunately down with a cold, so work won’t start again until Wednesday. It’s a it of a bummer that we really haven’t gotten anywhere the last two weeks, but that’s the wonderful life of construction. On the brighter side: The new espresso machine was secured yesterday. Settled for La Spaziale after much research and a 200% price jump on the machine we really wanted. It’ll be a treat to get the water line hooked up directly . Now it’s time to order the three new windows and the two new doors
Isabella is slowly making it through her presents. She’s only opened a few while we wait for Lyne to come home. We spent many hours and two garbage bags cleaning her room yesterday. Turned out very nice although it would help if Isabella let go of some of her many toy animals. It’s hard not to understand – must be comfy to fall asleep in their company. She’s almost done with her special project – a report about the Cheetah. She’s such a trooper – how many kids to leave their presents under the tree past Dec. 25?
We all spent some time in San Francisco and Marin (Bonita Lighthouse) December 25 and paid the Seven Sisters a visit on a most beautiful day. Had dinner at Thai Stick on Fillmore and tried to use our combined brainpower to make the Bittersweet chocolate store open although the sign clearly stated they were closed. Maybe today. Was hoping to go to the ice skating rink in SF Zoo tonight, but it’s still closed after the tiger incident.
Let us finish saying that we are were late with our Christmas letter and cards and it doesn’t look good for squeezing it in this year, so here’s a belated Merry Christmas wish and an early wish for a happy New Year!
