As you can see, there’s no way back. It took only four hours on Wednesday to turn our kitchen into a wasteland. Unfortunately asbestos was revealed in the floor, and we have just signed a contract to have a few guys in something the resembles space suits come out and remove it. They can’t show up until Wednesday, so not too great a start but there was never any doubt we wanted it gone once we found out.
We’ve already started the numbers game that we remember so well from the bathroom remodel. One day you save $$$ on something. Three minutes later a discovery…. $$$ gone again 🙂 Still, we’re very happy with the contractor (Jesse), and have no doubt he’ll take good care of us and the house.
So far it’s not a problem to live without a kitchen, but it would have been nice to keep it around the extra week since no work is being done anyway. Here’s to pizza and Panda Express.
