Slowly being cooked

Isabella is horsing around on Likely here at Spring Down. She looks very proud in her new riding outfit. Her heart almost stopped for just a second when she found our they had cancelled her appointment. It was a mistake so they found her another instructor, but we had to wait an extra 30 min. until someone else was ready. Isabella didn’t mind 😉 She’s on first name-basis with most of the horses at this point…

She started Saturday violin lessons yesterday so now everything’s back to normal. At least when it comes to her weekly schedule. She’ll be taking art classes on Wednesdays starting Sep. 17. We couldn’t find room for her ballet lessons this year – she’s quite bummed but with two classes a week something had to give.

Yesterday we had Jade – one of Isabella’s class buddies – over for a play date. Ended up in the studio for an hour or so to test a lighting setups. Good fun and great pictures (link). Afterwards we relaxed at home with pizza and a movie with lots of snow and ice: Snow Buddies. The heat is almost unbearable and the house has been above 90 degrees on the inside all week. Weather finally looks to be cooler until Friday but then it’s back up Saturday.

We’re not the only ones feeling the heat. Started the slow cooker this morning. First try ever – dinners that need to cook eight hours are not exactly our cup of tea. Ah, but the poor little Hawaiian style piggy should be very tender come seven o’clock. Oink, oink…
