Spring is definitely here and we spent the week around the house. We got the last shutter installed and are very happy with the work of Shutters of San Mateo. The architect and a contractor was here much of Thursday, and together we found new ways to keep the family room reasonable. The contractor is munching on the numbers and there’s a good chance that this week is the one where it’s a definitive yes or no.
Sad call from House of Copenhagen – our furniture store in Scottsdale, AZ. They are closing after only a few years of business. We expect them to launch a “everything must go” sale, so if you’re in the market for Danish furniture… There are some really good investment pieces in their shop and we’re shaking the piggy bank every day to find $$$ for a particular chair. Not sure that’s happening.
Sunday came around and we visited the theater in Redwood City to see Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D. Quite the experience and judging by the previews, there’s a whole row of 3D movies coming our way. We also played “Horse Sense” and spun the Wii up for a round of bowling. Isabella had to prepare 25 random questions for school, so the day was gone almost before it started.
Early in the week John took delivery of a monster of a printer and spent time setting it up and calibrating it. The not-so-old printer got sold via craigslist to an Oakland fire fighter who’s staring his own print shop. Good people as always and as an added bonus we learned the difference between a fire truck and a fire engine. Anyone?
We got both our health insurance applications approved, which was a relief. We both got plans that didn’t have maternity coverage… and saved substantial dollars that way. Not enough for that chair though… 🙂

The picture above is from Portola Valley. John dusted his infrared camera off and took it out for a walk. Many colors get inverted and as you can see green turns white. Fun stuff but very unpredictable unless you use it a lot.
