Ready for Inspection

While there was a lot more activity this week, it was harder to tell—especially when compared to last week.

The pool crew spent the week running all the pipes incl. the 16(!) pipes that will run from the equipment to the pool. They completely dug up our backyard at one point, and our enthusiasm could only be kept up by keeping the end of the journey in mind.

They made significant progress, though; as we write this, the pool is ready for city inspection. That will happen Tuesday, and the rest of the trenches will be covered once complete.

Olivia and John settled on the inside tiles for the pool, the ledge for the pool cover, and the inside of the hot tub. We’re excited that tiles will cover the hot tub in tile rather than plaster, even though they were not in the original budget.

It’s been rough to see the amount of damage the machinery has done, but we’re weighing it against productivity. It’s been especially hard on backyard lighting and irrigation, and we keep having to think about the following steps to make sure what we need to rebuild can be done through concrete and other piping.
