A couple of weeks flew by and it’s almost Monday. Lots to catch up on.
Saturday brought the second visit from Jessie – a contractor who’s preparing an estimate for us to pretty much tear down the kitchen and start from scratch. The estimate will also include new windows and foundation in the family room, a new entrance door, a new fence, and a couple of other things. We’re holding our breath until he returns but hopefully we can get this work started soon. After discussing all the good ideas with him, it’s hard not to want it all done right away. Can’t wait to get a dishwasher. And double-pane windows in the family room should make it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
Apropos fence: Moses got a hair cut and is looking quite sharp. He seems to enjoy that they cut his rasta-style hair on his ears. He’s slowly getting more and more mellow but still seems unable to control his excitement when food is being served. It runs in the family…
Lunch at The Ramp on Sunday. It’s an outdoor dive at the boat harbor in San Francisco. Lyne was sure she could smell the oil from last week’s ship collision with the Bay Bridge. Very sad story that keeps unfolding. There were 20 ships cleaning up today, and much wildlife have been affected. Many beaches are still closed and all fishing have been banned. Quite amazing that these things can happen with GPS and stuff.
On the lighter side: We got a Nintendo Wii earlier this week and we’re sore from playing bowling, tennis, and baseball. It’s a lot of fun and it’s almost like the real thing. Well, not really – but at least you have to be physically active to play. Isabella is getting good at bowling and have only sent the remote control flying once.
We’re heading to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for Thanksgiving. Was hoping for a bit of fall color, but it looks more like snow and therefore white rather than brown buffalo. It’s minutes away from Yellowstone and Grand Tenton National Parks. We should have known – the tourist agency’s number is 1-888-DEEP-SNO. It’ll be good fun no matter what. Well, as long at the volcanic masses stay in the ground.
