Rain, rain, rain…

The rain is coming down outside. Pretty hard. The weather forecast shows only Wednesday as a possible non-rainy day for the next week. Right now it’s not bothering us, but it’ll probably put the kibosh on a planned trip to Yosemite.

Saturday Isabella finished her riding lessons and we’re now pondering if she should continue at Spring Down or at one of the other places around here. The size of Isabella’s class had shrunk down to only two students. Undoubtedly a sign of the times and we have considered changing the schedule ourselves.

This week Isabella enjoyed a private violin lesson at home. Christine is studying to be a teacher of the Suzuki method, and teaching young hopeful violinists in their homes (for free) is part of the education. Isabella is doing great playing violin and have come a long way the last three months.

Our landscaper Lopez was here on Friday to see what he can do about all the concrete around the house and in the backyard. We would love to get pavers instead, so he’s back at home calculating. We’re waiting for our new dining table but are enjoying our new couch in the meantime. We went to look at a house today – eight month old and spotless inside and out. We’re not really looking but have driven by the gated community many times. So we just wanted to peek in to see what 2.1 million dollars will buy you these days. Not exactly in the same price range but Isabella’s room is empty and there’s putty in all the holes we could find in the walls. Painting will start tomorrow.

Below is a picture that we took Sunday morning in the studio. John bought two new backdrops and we went to see what they would look like. Enjoy 🙂

PS Congrats to Heath Ledger for winning an Oscar. Hope he is aware and can be proud! So very well-deserved.
