Monday October 31 finally came around and the costumes were out and on at the crack of dawn. Olivia’s sister Sarah came around with Robert and Rlynn to go trick or treating and stayed until it was pitch black outside. Most of the candy was gone the day after – what was handed out at the door plus what was collected up and down the street.
The end of the month also brought fresh report cards and parent-teacher conferences. The three girls all got accepted into the Honor Student category. Luckily there are no “My kid is a honor student at St. Catherine’s” stickers! Still, we’re very proud of them and it’s good to see that the hours they put into their home work and at school pays off. Bella is still considering which high school to attend but she’s narrowing the choices every week.
Adriana has been Star of the Week at her pre-school and got to show a big poster with pictures of people important to her in her life. This week Olivia put together a presentation on Africa and brought photos, ostrich eggs, porcupine needles and art projects to Montessori. Making monkeys out of paper bags was the most popular activity so we have some inventory of lions, zebra and elephants. Adriana has started ballet sessions and enjoys showing us all various starting positions.
The girls finished their various sports in early November. Bella’s volleyball team made it to the playoffs. Isabella finished her soccer and was sad that her awesome coach is moving up a grade. She’s gotten a good taste for it and will likely play in 2012.
