We have considered adding a pool for quite a while — many contributing factors: some good, some practical. We started to look at it two years ago and have been chasing financing, contractors, and supplies. COVID was an unexpected and rather unpleasant surprise – and presented a set of challenges in itself. Material prices have gone through the roof, and the proposals we got were revised three times along the way with very few actual changes.
We have finally decided to move forward, and we’re quite excited about the outlook to have both a swimming pool and hot tub in our backyard.
Sadly, we have to redo our patio, but the project also presents an opportunity to install turf rather than real grass. We replaced our grass in Burlingame back in 2016 and quickly loved the year-long non-fading color and the feel of the turf.
We will update the blog as the project moves along. We’re don’t know when the project will start – for now we need to get the plans approved with the Hillsborough planning department.
