Gunite in place

The third time was the charm… Finally, after the gunite had been postponed two times, the crew showed up Friday morning. The truck with sand and cement arrived at 8:00 and the pump ran almost non-stop until 3:00 in the afternoon. After that, they started putting the final touches on the steps, hot tub, pool cover casing, and more. The last crew left at 5:00 p.m. Supposedly to start a similar project close by.

Gunite going in…

Nothing much happened prior to. Marcos got a really good dent in the lower wall and ended up taking 40 years of soil to a landscaping project in Woodside. Outside actually rebuilding the wall, all that remains is shaping the far corner, but that could end up being tough to wrap up until the patio tile is in place.

We got the tile for the top of the pool and the inside of the hot tub. They look great. Will look even better against the blue water.

We’re still working on the pagoda from a design point of view. Still not quite sure what to do there. We’re hoping to find something that will offer a bit of privacy towards the street.
